Love

Let the children feel that they are loved. You can do this by simply telling them or by asking about their day, about their feelings. Even doing things together and laugh together can make them feel loved.

Let them do little tasks

By letting the children do some little tasks based on their age, they will feel trusted and responsible. Don't expect them to do this tasks perfectly from the first time, they have to make mistakes in order to learn.

Mistakes are okay

Let the children know that it is okay to make mistakes. By making mistakes, they learn. As a teacher, don't get angry when children make mistakes, if you do, they will be afraid to try anything new. Resilience is all about making mistakes and getting bak up again. After a child made a mistake, as a teacher you can ask the child if he/she knows a solution to make it better. If not, you can think of one together.

Self esteem

Help the children to discover their talents. Make them clear that it is okay that they are not good at everything.

Talk about feeling and problems

Let the children talk about their feelings and their problems. To stimulate them, as a teacher, you can also say something about your feelings. When a child comes to you to talk about his/her feeling or problems, it is important to listen and take it seriously. Make sure you are there for them.

Humor

Laugh together with the children, it can result in a relaxed vibe.
